As the last week of school comes to a close, we wanted to offer some tips on how to keep your kids safe both at the Windsong Ranch pool and any other pool they may swim at. Implementing simple rules to follow can ensure a safe and fun summer in Prosper, Texas!
Never swim alone
The buddy system is the way to go when it comes to swimming no matter what age you are. Make sure you and your children are with at least one other person when having fun in the sun. This includes lifeguarded pools as well.
Make sure everyone can swim
One of the best preventative measures you can take for pool safety is ensuring your children know how to swim. There are several swim classes around Prosper that you can enroll your child in. Click here for more information.
Make sure younger and inexperienced swimmers wear a life jacket
It may be a good idea for your little swimmers to wear a lifejacket at all times. Make sure you purchase a Coast Guard-approved lifejacket for maximum protection against water accidents.
No running!
Your children may think the no running rule ruins the fun, but it is there for a reason. Avoid dealing with falls, slips, and other accidents by ensuring your children walk when at the pool.
Actively supervise
Even if lifeguards are present, you must actively watch your children at all times. Don’t just drop them off and come back later. Always stay close by and avoid any distractions.
Now that you know how to keep both yourself and your children safe at the pool, it’s time to hit the water! Be sure to join us at our Summer Kick-off Party tomorrow from 11am-2pm! We’ll have a ton of fun activities, including a watermelon eating contest, cannonball competitions, water balloon relays, and a live band!
