It’s back to school time around Windsong Ranch, and with the school year gearing up, we couldn’t think of a better time to fill you in on everything you need to know about our school district, Prosper Independent School District. There are lots of new families at Windsong Ranch this year, all of which will either be attending our flagship school, Windsong Ranch Elementary or our newest addition, St. Martin de Porres Catholic School—while our older children will be headed off to Reynolds Middle and Prosper High—all of which are top-rated schools within the Prosper Independent School District.
About Prosper Independent School District
Prosper ISD encompasses 7 Elementary Schools, 2 Middle and High Schools with over 7,000 students in attendance in 2016. Our district is one of the fastest growing in the state with 7,000 new students joining us over the last five years. This is thanks to in large part to the space, affordability, and accessibility that towns like Prosper provide for families, especially those looking for the room to grow.
Changes Around Prosper ISD
The district has taken moves to account for the projected growth by constructing new facilities including a brand new 12,000 seat football stadium, complete with its own natatorium (or indoor pool) that is set to open for the 2018-2019 school year. Two new schools are currently under construction, with two more projected to begin construction in the coming years.
That’s not all that is changing this year around the Prosper Independent School district. As we all noticed, school started a week earlier than last year but the early start has its fair share of perks including more three-day weekends for students and more training opportunities for faculty and staff.
Oh, and did we mention that Google Chromebook computers will now be available to all students from the 2nd through the 12th grade?!
