Talk about flowers, flowers, and more flowers! After a chilly winter and spring, summer is finally here! It’s time to get out and smell the roses – literally. The Dallas Arboretum is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. There’s no shortage of tulips, pansies, poppies, violas, daffodils and more. Come enjoy a picnic on one of the lawns or have a cute photo shoot with the kids. The Dallas Arboretum also offers daily activities and exhibits for the entire family. Here are some of our favorites:
Bird House Exhibit-Open daily from 9am-5pm-Located at Lakeside Exhibit Area This area features life-sized, interactive bird houses that were built by local architects. Come explore the different houses and learn all about the lifestyles and different adaptations of several different bird species!
Tea Room-A crowd favorite! Enjoy good food and drinks as you relax among the flowers. Tea starts at 11am and at 2pm. You must make reservations in order to participate. 13+.
Summer at the Arboretum-June 1-August 31. During the entire month of August, the Arboretum will be offering $1 general garden admission! Come explore a vast selection of seasonal plantings, floral displays, and exciting activities for the family.
Free Garden Tours-Wednesdays-11am For groups of up to 20, the Dallas Arboretum offers free garden tours! Learn about the flowers, plants, and arrangements that are present at the arboretum.
Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden. The addition of the adventure garden has been met with great success. Designed to connect children with nature, the gardens have a multitude of activities for the family. From a nature puppet show to bird classes, there is something for each of your little fledglings.
