Great American Cleanup – Frisco
Celebrate our planet by participating in a community litter cleanup day in Frisco, Texas on Saturday, April 25! Whether you have some items to dispose of or you want to volunteer, we hope you’ll be able to participate. Afterwards, head over to IKEA for an after party. Earth Day Celebration – Plano
Plano, Texas is also celebrating Earth Day in style! On April 18th from 9am-2pm there will be a community-wide litter cleanup. Afterwards, the party begins! There will be a volunteer appreciation picnic and celebration.
3rd Saturday Nature Talks: Aquatic Plant Species
Head over to the Heard Museum in McKinney, Texas for a lesson about aquatic plants here in the north Texas region. You and your children will learn about the advantages and disadvantages of these plants, and how to identify them. This program is free with the purchase of a general admission ticket to the museum.
Earth Day Texas
If you’re wanting to make a day out of it, head over to Fair Park on April 24, 25, or 26 for Earth Day Texas! This outdoor festival is intended to educate Texans on environmental issues and teach them how to combat these problems every day. Be sure to head over to the Eco Expo to see what the state’s most influential green leaders are doing to preserve our planet. Admission is free to this family friendly event.
