Let’s be honest, hosting a party can be stressful.
What should we eat? Drink? Do?
These are questions all party hosts have asked themselves prior to hosting a get-together. How about mixing it up and hosting a Grown-Up Game Night?
Here are 5 Ways to Win Your Grown-Up Game Night in Windsong Ranch:
The Right Amount of People
Trying to play certain games with too many or too few people can be difficult. Try inviting between five and eight friends and planning out some game options that fit your party size.
What to Drink
Let’s just go ahead and say it probably shouldn’t be all Coors Light. Go with a creative seasonal cocktail recipe, mulled wine, or craft beer.
Fake a Fancy Meal
What you have to eat doesn’t have to be fancy, but it should look fancy. May we suggest gourmet flatbreads? Butternut squash, sage, caramelized onions, apples, blue cheese, and bacon will wow your friends. Throw them in the oven once your friends start to arrive, and you’re ready to go.
Clear Your Coffee Table
Sitting around a dinner table all night can feel too formal. Clear off the coffee table and create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for all of your guests.
Finger Foods
Back to the whole, “it doesn’t actually have to be fancy” concept. You can go back to the classics when it comes to snacks, just a more adult version. Make elevated versions of your go-to snacks with slightly more high-end ingredients: savory brown butter and rosemary popcorn or sweet vanilla and sea salt popcorn. We personally like Joy The Baker’s recipe for parmesan and herb cheese straws. Game night is supposed to be laid-back, but serving interesting bites shows a little more thought than Cheez-Its.
