Ray Roberts Lake State Park
The Ray Roberts Lake is located north of Denton, and is only a short car ride away from Prosper. This tranquil lake has become a popular camping destination over the years, offering equestrian trails, biking, swimming, roller blading, boating, and more. Primitive campsites are available for $12 a night and campsites with electricity, water, and a fire ring are $25 a night.

Eisenhower State Park
Enjoy the beautiful southern shores of Lake Texoma at this scenic 423-acre park. You can enjoy all the boating, biking, fishing, swimming, and water skiing you can handle. They offer 45 campsites with electricity and water for $18 per night, 50 campsites with electricity, water, and sewage for $20 per night, and primitive campsites for a reduced rate. These campgrounds are located in Denison, Texas, which is less than an hour away from Prosper, Texas.

Dinosaur Valley State Park
This one is a little further away from Prosper, but worth the drive when it’s all said and done. This unique campsite offers picnic spots, hiking, mountain biking, swimming, fishing, horseback riding, and dinosaur tracks for you to follow. Millions of years ago, dinosaurs left footprints in the mud, and they are still here today for visitors to explore! You can also head over to Fossil Rim Wildlife Center nearby to visit and feed the endangered species living on the grounds from the convenience of your vehicle! Fossil Rim is a fun and educational experience for the whole family. The park is free for children 12 and under and $7 for adults.
